Radiother Oncol 2010, 94:151-155. This was the first study in rectal cancer in which several FDG-PET scans were performed during treatment to assess the use of FDG-PET to identify (non-)responders during chemoradiation. Identification of nonresponding patients early on during treatment could allow us to reorient nonresponding patients.
