    • During the further research for the deprotection of thioacetals with 30% hydrogen peroxide catalyzed by tantalum(V) chloride and sodium iodide after the publication of Ref. 5b, we found that the use of 5 equivalents of hydrogen peroxide to the thioacetal is the ideal condition to obtain the corresponding carbonyl compounds.
