    • Room temperature growth of mesoporous silica fibers: a new high-surface-area optical waveguide
    • This paper describes the synthesis of mesoporous silica fibers possessing long-range hexagonal mesostructural order using low-molecular-weight surfactants to coassemble laser dye species. Control over the morphology and dimensions of the fibers is demonstrated through control of the self-assembly and growth mechanisms, which lead to orientationally ordered hexagonal mesopores within the fibers and waveguide properties.
