    • Formation of approximately one equivalent of the corresponding aniline derivative is observed in all these reactions. The role of dienes 11 as intermediates of the reaction is supported by the isolation, in some particular cases, of dienes analogous to 11 in reactions performed under the standard conditions. Moreover, diene 11 was synthesized by an independent method and subjected to the reaction conditions to give compound 4j in 90% yield
