    • A MicroRNA feedback circuit in midbrain dopamine neurons
    • In this study, depletion of all miRNAs from dopaminergic mouse neurons leads to massive, progressive neurodegeneration reminiscent of Parkinson's disease. The miRNA(s) required for neuroprotection are not identified, but a miRNA-target feedback loop which potentially functions during differentiation of dopaminergic neurons is described.

    • Loss of microRNA cluster miR-29a/b-1 in sporadic Alzheimer's disease correlates with increased BACE1/beta-secretase expression
    • In this paper, BACE1/β-secretase is identified as a target of the miR-29a/b-1 cluster. The miRNAs are markedly reduced in sporadic AD patient samples, where BACE1/β-secretase is upregulated, suggesting a possible link between miR-29a/b-1 expression and AD pathology in sporadic AD.
