    • The concentrations of Dapoxyl and CB7 for the cuvette experiments were 2.5 and 10 μM. the same as those employed in our preliminary study in reference [41]; the concentration of dye was limited by reasons of instrumental sensitivity, whereas the concentration of host was optimized to achieve a sufficiently high dye complexalion and associated fluorescence response. For the less sensitive microtiter plate measurements, the dye and host concentrations needed to be increased to 7.5 and 30 μM. respectively. Note also that the enzyme concentrations in the microliter plate measurements were optimized to result in comparable rales of decarboxlation of all four amino acids, cf. also the Experimental Section.
