These values have been obtained from Bond Valence Sum (BVS) calculations where BVS, ΣBVi, Σexp[(r0, r i)/B, B, 0.37 and r0, 1.834 Å for RuIV-O2, see ref.[64, However, this r0 value appears to be overestimated (see ref, 65, and the calculated valences for both Ru should be closer to +4. For instance, in the case of Finke's complex, α2-P 2W17O61}2{Cl2Ru IV2(μ-O, 16, see ref.[16, we found BVS, 4.64 for the RuIV ion with this set of data r 0, 2.21 for RuIV-Cl, see ref, 64
