    • Herein we make a distinction between materials having a chiral orientation, where the sample is aligned such that chiral planes are perpendicular to the macroscopic surface normal, and materials having a chiral surface, where the sample is both chirally oriented and has a macroscopically flat surface with a chiral structure.
