Mechanistic and kinetic evaluation of organic disinfection by-product and assimilable organic carbon (AOC) formation during the ozonation of drinking water
-
This study describes the formation of low molecular weight organic compounds produced because of ozonation of water and its contribution to AOC. Organic acids were identified as the major compounds of the AOC generated by ozonation. It follows the growth kinetics of the bacteria and the decrease of the AOC in the further treatment procedures.
