    • In Parts 1 and 2, spectra were scaled to an optical density of 1.0 at the peak of the B band. Since many of the mutations in the present study significantly influence the broadness of the B band, we have instead chosen the H band as a standard, even though many of these mutations do influence the H band as well. The absorption and Stark spectra in Parts 1 and 2 should be divided by roughly 4 for comparison with the spectra here.
