    • A novel hepatitis B virus genotyping system by using restriction fragment length polymorphism patterns of S gene amplicons
    • Dr Camille Szmaragd has PhD from Cambridge University, where she studied the genetic basis of human Hepatitis B Virus under the supervision of Dr Balloux. Her interests range from population genetics, phylogenetics, evolution, molecular biology to epidemiology and statistics. During her PhD, she developed a new approach, combining phylogenetics and statistics, to identify specific mutations within HBV which could influence the outcome of the infection. Dr Szmaragd is now working at the Institute for Animal Health and is involved in modelling the spatial spread of bluetongue virus.
