10.1021/ol071065a Using LDA, variation within group is minimized while differences between groups are maximized Leave-one-out cross-validation successively removes each sample from the data set while recomputing discriminant functions based on the remaining samples. Classification errors for each sample are then obtained without using that sample to calculate the discriminant model and assessing the model's ability to correctly identify the removed sample. Thus, the estimates of the classification accuracies for each sample were independent of the discriminant model. For example see:
