    • Bianchi SL, Tran T, Liu C, et al. Brain and behavior changes in 12-month-old Tg2576 and nontransgenic mice exposed to anesthetics. Neurobiol Aging 2007; 6 Mar [Epub ahead of print]. This in-vivo study showed that isoflurane anesthesia does not increase deposition of Aβ but produces an enduring cognitive deficit whereas halothane has no lasting cognitive effect but increases the Aβ load, challenging the premise that Aβ is a mechanism of cognitive impairment after general anesthesia.
