note
-
The very advanced and dynamic nature of the Korean market reinforces this tendency. For example, more than 70% of all Korean households have broadband access, the highest level in the world. Penetration of 3G mobile services in Korea (34% as of 2005) is also the highest in the world (much higher than that in Italy (15%), which ranks first in Europe). A recent survey shows that 48% of 3-5-year-old infants in Korea use the Internet. According to another recent survey, Korean cellular subscribers replace their handsets every 1.76 years, providing great opportunities for new services based on advanced features of the new handsets. Specifically, 75% of the subscribers have handsets equipped with digital cameras and 34% with mp3 players.
