    • In a reaction mixture containing Type I and Type II olefins, two Type I olefins readily homodimerise under metathesis conditions. The olefinic product of this reaction can undergo a subsequent CM with the Type II olefin to yield an unreactive heterodimer with good selectivity and yield. Homodimerisation of Type II olefins is slow and does not compete favourably
