    • Complement receptors regulate differentiation of bone marrow plasma cell precursors expressing transcription factors Blimp-1 and XBP-1
    • Investigation of the response against inert viral particles has shown that bone marrow plasma cells and memory antibody titers are absent in complement receptor Cr2-deficient mice, whereas memory B cells are formed normally. These results suggest that Cr2 is essential for the formation of long-lived bone marrow plasma cells, and that memory B cells can not substitute for these plasma cells in their capacity to provide persistent memory antibody titers.
