Demonstration of differential virulence gene promoter activation in vivo in Bordetella pertussis using RIVET
-
This is the most recent of a series of papers which elucidates the molecular events underlying the control of virulence gene expression in B. pertussis and extends the in vitro findings to the in vivo situation by use of RIVET. The authors provide evidence that the BvgA-BvgS-mediated sequential activation of virulence gene expression plays a role during infection.
