Cell Microbiol 2005, in press. Lipopolysaccharide from an oligosaccharide mutant Neisseria meningitidis expressing truncated outer core glycans exhibited strong adhesion and internalization to DCs via DC-SIGN. In this case, the activation of DC-SIGN skewed T cell responses driven by DCs towards T helper 1 activity, whereas the wild-type form induced a Th2-like cytokine profile.
