Two groups emerged, HECTOR (Hawaii, extreme, coral, terrestrial, ocean and rumen) and PARIS (Panama, Atlantic, rhizosphere and sediments) - named from the environments sampled - which grouped in the PUP clade (Podophage polymerase?). Not apparent in the paper, but obvious when seeing this story presented at meetings, is that Hector and Paris are also the names of the co-authors' dogs.
