    • This difference is mainly attributed to the approximate nature of eq 4, which lumps all oscillator strengths into a single electronic transition and does not discriminate between separate electron-vibrational transitions (i.e., vibrational effects/conformational disorder and solvent/thermal bath may only reduce radiative lifetime compared to the ideal case). Larger calculated "emitting" transition dipoles contribute to the observed discrepancy as well. In fact, eq 4 shows that an estimate of the transition dipole moment too large by a factor of the square root of 2 will lead to a twice smaller lifetime.
