    • In our earlier paper (ref 23), we report an aggregation number of 95 for MIC-CdS4 in THF, using gel permeation chromatography (GPC) equipped with refractive index (RI) and low-angle light scattering (LALS) detectors. Thus, the current aggregation number of 430 in toluene represents a greater than factor of 4 increase in the previous value, Part of this discrepancy maybe attributed to the fact that the previously reported value was based on a number-average molecular weight. However, more important is the different nature of the solvents for these two measurements (THF vs toluene), with a higher aggregation number being promoted by the lower polarity of toluene.
