    • A biochemical framework for RNA silencing in plants
    • In this outstanding paper, the authors use a wheat-germ extract system to characterize both siRNAs and miRNAs and their activity. They demonstrate that plant miRNAs can act via RISC-mediated target cleavage, and show that a dominant mutation in the PHV gene blocks cleavage of its mRNA, providing a link between biochemical analysis and developmental phenotype.
