    • Sanders et al. usually used 1,5-dinaphtho-[38]crown-10 for assembling interlocked supramolecular systems (see ref. [9]). We found that bis(p-phenylene)-[34]crown-10 is suitable enough for inducing complete rearrangement of the hydrogen-bonding motif, while the synthesis of its acetylene derivative 9 is much easier.
