    • The scenario of ultrafast IVR followed by electron injection from the thermalized singlet state is not likely because an upper limit of ∼20 fs for the time scale of singlet electron injection would mean that IVR and the establishment of the wave packet on the initial surface should occur on the sub-fs time scale. This time scale goes against results in the literature, which suggest that the time scale of IVR extends from tens of femtoseconds to tens of picoseconds (for example, for trans-stilbene see ref 48-50 and references therein).
