The complete genome sequence of M. tuberculosis H37Rv is the first product of the Pathogen Genome Unit at the Sanger Centre. Comparing this genome with those of M. tuberculosis CDC1551, M. bovis AF2122/97, M. leprae and M. avium will provide a rich source of information for future research.
