In addition, the expression pattern of Ptc around the cartilage condensations in the chick limb suggest that another member of the signalling family, Indian hedgehog, also regulates Ptc transcription. The independence of Ptc transcription of fibroblast growth factor signals from the ectoderm suggests that Ptc is a direct target of Shh activity.

    • Sertoli-cell signaling by desert hedgehog regulates the male germline
