    • Expression in Escherichia coli of cytoplasmic portions of the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator: Apparent bacterial toxicity of peptides containing R-domain sequences
    • of special interest. Bacterial toxicity associated with the expression of the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator was due to the R domain, which affected E. coli growth and survival. Peptides lacking the R domain were expressed successfully at reasonably high levels.
