    • The free-energy change (Δ G) for the two electron-transfer processes was calculated with eq 601 (Kavarnos, G. J. Fundamentals of Photoinduced Electron Transfer; VCH: New York, 1993). The oxidation potential (E Ox) of the donor and the reduction potential (E Red) of the acceptor in both instances were determined from the differential pulse voltammograms (Supporting Information Figure S2) of 1 and 12. The energy change (Δ E 00) for the S0 → S1 transition of the BODIPY chromophore was estimated to be +2.35 eV from the absorption and emission spectra of 12.
