The overlap integral (J) and Förster distance (R 0) were calculated with eqs and 2, respectively (Lakowicz, J. R. Principles of Fluorescence Spectroscopy; Springer: New York, 2006). The emission intensity (I D) of the anthracene donor and the molar extinction coefficient (εA) of the BODIPY acceptor at a given wavelength (λ) were determined from the corresponding emission and absorption spectra (c and b in Figure 1), respectively.
