Regulation (EC) No. 1333/2008 replaces the earlier Directive No. 95/2/EC. A united EU list of food additive approved for use in foods and conditions of use, which is Annex II in the regulation, is expected to be fully adopted in 2012, while the directive concerning the specific purity criteria on food additives other than colours and sweeteners is expected to be fully adopted in, and, until full adoption, the specifications described in the earlier directive are still effective
