    • N-benzylideneaniline and [H(Et2O)2][B(C6F5)4] acid in stoichiometric amounts were mixed in Et2O and kept stirring overnight. The product was dried in vacuo and its 1H NMR spectrum was measured in THF-d8. The disappearance of the 1H NMR signals for the acid at δ 14 ppm (Et2OH+) and the imine at δ 8.6 ppm (CH) and the appearance of a signal at 9.6 ppm for the iminium salt (CH) in THF-d8 confirmed the formation of the [PhCH = NHPh]+[B(C6F5)4]- salt.
