The nanoribbons are modeled in a box. The minimum edge-to-edge distance between neighboring images of the nanoribbons is 10 Å along the z-direction or 15 Å along the perpendicular direction. Both the lattice parameter of the nanoribbon and the atomic coordinates are optimized to minimize the energy.
