    • It is important to note that similar enzymatic assays were performed in which 4-OT was replaced by either a proline-based tautomerase (YwhB or MIF) or by an aspartase (AspB or MAL) that lacks an N-terminal proline. Both MIF and YwhB catalyse the isomerisation of 6 to 4 at a similar rate as 4-OT WT, while AspB and MAL do not show any isomerase activity.
