Evolutionary conservation of microsatellite flanking regions and their use in resolving the phylogeny of cichlid fishes (Pisces: Perciformes)
-
ISM is interested in the evolutionary mechanisms maintaining phenotypic and genetic diversity particularly in young species that are not completely isolated geographically and reproductively. SM is interested in the origin of the more than 500 species of the Lake Victoria haplochromine species flock and mechanisms leading to their faster diversification than any other fish species in the same lake within a very short period of time since it's last desiccation. OS is interested in the evolutionary [processes and ecological mechanisms of origins and maintenance of biological diversity. All authors share a common interest in the evolution of cichlid fish from Lake Victoria
