    • For TeSADH and TbADH, stereospecificity is switched with small substrates, such as 2-butanol and 2-pentanol. See ref. [6b, c] and E. Keinan, E. K. Hafeli, K. K. Seth, R. Lamed, J. Am. Chem. Soc. 1986, 108, 162-169. This is because the small pocket has higher affinity toward the alkyl groups of the ketone than the large pocket. However, the small pocket can only accommodate substituents of up to three carbon atoms.
