    • This is the most comprehensive review, to date, on the role of heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) as an endogenous protective molecule. I highly recommend this review as an introduction to HO-1 function as the authors have compiled an exhaustive account of HO-1 and it is most celebrated catabolite, carbon monoxide (CO) in alleviating models of clinical disease.

    • Use of carbon monoxide as a therapeutic agent: promises and challenges
    • This is a brief but comprehensive review on the pleitropicity of carbon monoxide releasing molecules (CO-RMs) as a therapeutic. Structure and function of various CO-RM molecules are described. More importantly, a comparison between the efficacy of inhaled carbon monoxide and CO-RMs in established disease models is discussed.
