With 3274 men aged 18-24 years in South Africa randomized to immediate versus delayed MC, they found a 60% reduction in HIV infection risk.

Lancet 369, 643-656 (2007). • This randomized, controlled clinical trial in Kenya included 2784 men aged 18-24 years and found a 53% reduction in HIV infection risk in men randomized to MC.

Lancet 369, 657-666 (2007). •• This randomized, controlled clinical trial in Uganda included 4996 men aged 18-49 years and found a 51% reduction in HIV infection risk in men randomized to MC. The investigators also studied transmission from HIV-infected men to their partners in a related study.
