Investigating the solvatochromic emission behavior of the carbazole dye in the corresponding block copolymer system of poly-b-3revealed different emission maxima in the solvents MeOH (λmax, 483 nm, CHCl3 (λmax, 451 nm, CH2Cl2 (λmax, 459 nm, and MeOH/CH2Cl2, 1:1 (λmax, 504 nm, Similar maxima were obtained for the corresponding monomer 6cf. Supporting Information, At present, a reasonable explanation is missing for the surprisingly low energy of the emission maximum in MeOH/CH2Cl2. Effects such as aggregation and excimer formation cannot be excluded as the reason for this behavior, especially because carbazole derivatives are well known to form excimers.43
