    • Authentic N-(4-methoxyphenyl)benzo[d]thiazol-2-amine was independently prepared from the reaction of 2-chlorobenzothiazole and p-anisidine according to the procedure in: Cossey, H. D.; Judd, J.; Stephens, F. F. J. Chem. Soc. 1965, 954. The product of this uncatalyzed reaction was found to be different than the product obtained from the reaction described in Table 2, entry 9.
