High-density universal 16S rRNA microarray analysis reveals broader diversity than typical clone library when sampling the environment
-
Identification of pathogens in environmental samples often use parallel, multispecies detection systems, in order to detect any pathogens. In this analysis a DNA array with 2 97 851 probes was compared with 16S cloning and sequencing to evaluate the biodiversity, with the conclusion that the array was more efficient. However, pyrosequencing technologies are likely to replace both of the approaches compared in this work.
