    • This publication presents an optical imaging study on learning-induced changes of neuronal activity in mushroom body neurons. The authors find that a training procedure that can induce long-term memory leads to a change in activity evoked by the trained odor. Interestingly, this change in activity is detectable only in a particular branch of Kenyon cells that has previously been shown to be involved in long-term memory formation.

    • Multiple memory traces for olfactory reward learning in Drosophila
    • This publication provides evidence for two independent memory traces in the Drosophila brain. Whereas aversive and appetitive olfactory short-term memory can be localized to the mushroom body, an additional memory trace for appetitive short-term memory has been found in projection neurons.
