Promoter targeting sequence mediates enhancer interference in the Drosophila embryo
-
In this study, the authors find that two enhancers regulating a single promoter become mutually exclusive in the presence of a PTS; they apply their observations to explain how the adjacent iab regulatory domains act sequentially in more posterior segments.

Probing long-distance regulatory interactions in the Drosophila melanogaster bithorax complex using Dam identification
-
In this article, Fab-7 is shown to interact with the Abd-B promoter in tissues where the gene is inactive. This interaction, however, is lost in tissues where Abd-B is active. The adaptation of DamID to demonstrate this interaction has two major advantages over the more classical chromatin IP or 3C techniques. First it circumvents the need for tissue fixation and second it requires very little tissue, enabling the possibility to compare samples in which Abd-B is active versus inactive.
