note
-
Although the optical constants of pentacene films prepared on n-Si substrates were previously reported by Park et al. [Appl. Phys. Lett. 80 (2002) 2872], it was not possible to explain transmission data of the films prepared on glass or ITO substrates with those optical constants. This can be easily seen because the overall shape of the k(λ) curve with an n-Si substrate presented in work by Park et al. does not match the transmission data on glass or ITO substrates. The difference in optical constants appears to come from various factors, such as substrate interaction leading to different crystalline or film morphologies, and will be discussed elsewhere [S.-H. Han et al., in preparation].

note
-
It is noted that estimated values for exciton diffusion lengths can vary depending on the assumptions and boundary conditions used. However, departure from the ideal condition imposed here tends to result in larger diffusion lengths, and therefore, chance for overestimation is minimized with the current assumptions. Also, there could be a batch-to-batch variation in exciton diffusion lengths as they can sensitively vary depending on the extrinsic conditions such as impurities and contamination.
