    • The diastereomers were separated by using a Varian Prep Star 218 HPLC instrument with Chiralpak-AD (21.2 × 250 mL) column as the stationary phase and 80% n-hexane-20% EtOH with 0.05% TFA as the eluent. With the flow rate of 5 mL/min, injection volume of 0.5 mL, the retention times (detector at 254 nm) for the two diastereomers were 18.3 min and 21.4 min, respectively.
