    • According to the standards of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) "particle distribution may be considered monodisperse if at least 90% of the distribution lies within 5% of the median size" (Particle Size Characterization Special Publication 960-961, January 2001). We fit the experimental histograms of the size of the particles with Gaussian distributions. The standard deviations were typically on the order of 1-2% of the mean size, complying with the NIST definition of monodispersity.
