    • According to the standards of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) (Particle Size Characterization, Special Publication 960-1, January 2001) 'a particle distribution may be considered monodisperse if at least 90 % of the distribution lies within 5 % of the median size.' In order to determine the standard deviations, we fit the experimental histograms of the size of the particles with Gaussian distributions.
