The TNF-863A allele strongly associates with anticentromere antibody positivity in scleroderma
-
Sato H, Lagan A, Alexopoulou C, et al. The TNF-863A allele strongly associates with anticentromere antibody positivity in scleroderma. Arthritis Rheum 2004; 50:558-564. This study demonstrates the strong association of TNF promoter-1031 C allele with anti-centromere antibodies in a United Kingdom Caucasian population. This association might be able to explain the previously reported links between anticentromere antibody production and class II MHC alleles.
