    • The refractive index was taken as the average of the refractive indexes of the three components of the copolymer. The refractive index for polysiloxane was 1.40, the refractive index for PEG is 1.47, and the refractive index for alkyl disulfide is about 1.51.

    • Lift-off is a common patterning technique borrowed from microelectronic fabrication technology. It involves three basic steps in the following order: deposition and patterning of a photosensitive polymer also known as a photoresist on a substrate; subsequently, deposition of a wanted material that has to be patterned, on top of the patterned photoresist; and finally, removal of the photoresist together with excess of the wanted materials, leaving a patterned layer of wanted material on the substrate.
