The vessel was then heated to 70 °C under microwave irradiation using the Discover Synthesizer (monomode microwave cavity at 2.45 GHz; temperature control by automated adjustment of irradiation power in a range from 0 to 300 W). After 1 min the vial was cooled to r.t. The solution was filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure and purified by flash chromatography on silica eluting with hexane/ether to give 163 mg (81% yield) of 2-phenyl-quinoxaline.
