    • Attenuation of Pseudomonas aeruginosa virulence by quorum sensing inhibitors
    • This paper characterizes the mode of action of a furanone analog that inhibits bacterial quorum sensing. Transcriptional profiles of autoinducer synthase mutants in the presence or absence of exogenous autoinducer determined the set of quorum sensing-regulated genes. This set of genes was specifically affected by addition of the furanone analog, establishing a gene-by-gene 'fingerprint' of drug action.
